DC Comics
There are exciting things going on in the DCU that I don’t care about. If you were a big Lantern fan, this would be the month for you. I just couldn’t get into Sinestro Corps, I’m skipping a lot of the new Batman titles, and Wednesday Comics is over (also, I was disappointed in it).
BATMAN AND ROBIN #5
Issue #2 of this series rocked hard. I like that Morrison is playing with new villains, the classics need a bit of a break right now.
DETECTIVE COMICS #858
The first issue of the Batwoman-led Detective Comics came out last month and it was a treasure to behold. This month Rucka and Co. finally get around to telling us Kate Kane’s backstory and I’m excited to see how Williams III will handle the flashbacks.

BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #5Maybe. Issue #1 of this was decent enough. The “second feature” was better than the lead one and I ended up skipping #2 because I didn’t really feel a need to keep going. Chris Yost is stepping into the writer’s chair for a guest stint and I like that Yost… Maybe.
BATMAN: PRIVATE CASEBOOK TP
I believe this collects the last of Dini’s Detective Comics run before he was side-swipped by Batman RIP and Battle for the Cowl. I have the first few volumes of this and they are great. They are short mystery-based Batman stories and it’s nice to watch him be a detective again.
EX MACHINA DELUXE EDITION VOL. 2 HC
Actually, I already have these in the original softcover releases, so I probably won’t buy it. However, this is a great series and these are fantastic editions. You should go buy it.
PLANETARY #27
If you’re going to Hell, you might want to pack socks and a wool coat because Planetary is finally coming to an end. I think it’s been two years since the last issue and that’s 23 months too long. Hopefully they’ll announce an over-sized edition of issues #13-27 so I can complete my collection of this amazing series.
AIR VOL. 2: FLYING MACHINE TP
Volume One grew on me page after page and I look forward to seeing what happens next. The first volume is only 12 bucks, so pick it up. Neil Gaiman likes it too.
NORTHLANDERS #21
I think Leandro Fernandez will do a great job with this title, so I look forward to seeing his take on this Viking epic.
THE UNWRITTEN #6
Have I talked about this series today yet? Because it feels like I’m constantly talking about how awesome it is. It’s awesome.

Marvel Comics
I’m a Marvel Zombie, admittedly, but I’m loving the direction of the Marvel Universe right now. The X-Men and Avengers books are all pretty decent — it’s shocking.
X-BABIES #1 (of 4)
WOOK AT DA WIDDLE X-MEN!
ASTONISHING X-MEN #31
I was looking forward to dropping this series. It’s been a constant disappointment since Joss Whedon left with beyond terrible art. So, then, of course, they announce that Phil Jimenez is on art and I feel a need to keep buying it.
UNCANNY X-MEN #516
Apparently information on this issue is so top secret we can’t know until this weekend at San Diego.
X-FACTOR #50
Yay, X-Factor! Keep on trucking with your awesome reveals and hilariousness.
X-MEN LEGACY #228
The Xavier solo book is now a Rogue solo book and it remains compelling.
X-MEN VS. AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 (of 2)
Sweet. I hope this issue delivers on lots and lots of fisticuffs between my childhood-favourite and my current-favourite team.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #608-610
The last couple of months have been a little hit and miss with Spidey and his three-times-monthly book. And this solicit says that they’re revisiting the Clone Saga, which is a terrible idea on paper. But so was erasing his marriage via a deal with the devil and that turned out really well. Still in!
CAPTAIN AMERICA: REBORN #4 (of 5) and THE MARVELS PROJECT #3 (of 8) and CRIMINAL: The Sinners #2
They’re written by Ed Brubaker. What else do you need?
SECRET WARRIORS #9 and DARK REIGN: THE LIST – SECRET WARRIORS
It seems crazy to get one without the other. Like book ends.
DAREDEVIL #501
This is the first issue without Brubaker and I’m more than a little sad about that. However, I’ve heard good things about Andy Diggle and how can I say no to Matt Murdock, the sexiest superhero of all time.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #30
OoOoOOoo… Looks like we’re going to get some Avengers team-up action here. Dan Slott knows how to handle big groups of characters. I hope Marvel gives him the next big crossover.
NEW AVENGERS #58
I’m still not sure if I will get this. I do like The Hood and Stuart Immonen, but Bendis has yet to write a story where magic is a key element and it’s paid off.
SPIDER-WOMAN #2
I just wrote about how I’m excited for the motion comic of this. Then why would I get the non-motion version too? I’m weak. That’s why.
